requested

(my mother, who babysits skylar at least twice a week while i work, demands that i update my blog.
because, i don't know, she hasn't seen skylar in the last 24 hours?!?)
***

yesterday skylar and i went with my mom and genet to the quilt shop, where we picked out the coolest fabric for a quilt my mom's going to make, mcdonalds (genet's FAV) for happy meals and diet cokes, and the aquarium for, well, fish watching.

while at mcdonalds the lady who takes your order was, to put it kindly, a little slow. she got our order wrong time and time again, and finally got it straightened out by the time we got to the second window where, genet said, "mommy, this lady is not very smart." ah the perception of a four year old. she's hysterical.

the aquarium was really cool. we ventured through and saw the fish, octopus, snake, spiders and all other creatures. genet tried touching a sting ray but started screaming "i'm scared" whenever it came near. of course they have you exit through the gift shop where yaya (my mom) picked up some octopi for genet and skylar:

i love my octopus...
...until i see something else!

other pics:

she LOVES her daddy
why can't i touch the movies?!

always chomping on her tongue

yawn.

caught.

that's it for now.
i'll work on the updates.

update

first we must say adieu to conan...the true tonight show host. boycott leno, and nbc for that matter. except when watching the office or the olympics. thanks.

we had olsen family pictures taken in december and were able to snag a few of just our family. i think they turned out preety cute...thanks to the AMAZING photographer.

we were SO lucky to have missy, ken, elise, and addie in town for christmas. it was fun to see them, take them to in and out, and just hang out again. we've decided, too, that anchorage is too far away and we expect you to be back in the continental US by june. thanks.
addie
elise

we also spent an afternoon in park city introducing her girls to genet and then shopping.
addie wasn't interested in scooting any closer.

in other news, i'm finally nose-pierce-less. that's right. after three amazing years me and my diamond nose jewel have parted ways...all in the name of love (i framed it and gave it to my dad for his b-day).

and i guess that's it. we're still hanging out, working, and praying for some decent snow. skylar is getting her first two teeth, crawling up a storm, eating baby food, and da-da-da-ing away.

I've got a few words for you, NBC...

i'd like to tell the decision maker at NBC what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! for taking the great CONANDO off the air. hopefully FOX or Comedy Central pick him up so he's back on the air soon...though I heard it won't be before september (something about contracts. ha).

we love you coco :(

Sad day

So the Eagles lost on saturday night. Skylar and I are still reeling from the loss and have spent the past four days sleeping and wetting ourselves in the bed. Jessi has been a real trooper, changing my underpants and Skylars diaper without saying a word. I managed to get out of bed this morning only to realize that we have no snow and I can't even see the neighbors house because of all the smog. Awesome. Has this been the worst week ever? Possibly, the only thing keeping me breathing is the hopes that I will be able to purchase a speed boat with our tax return.

so many firsts

we're in the midst of many changes:
snot bubbles (aka: first cold), teething (they're about to bust through), practically scooting/crawling, rice cereal and baby food, dadadadadada (she says mamamamama on the inside, where it really counts), etc.
we're closer to her being a year than to her birth.
it's crazy how time flies.
but i'm lovin' every minute of it...
(except last weekend when her cold was at its worst).
