This guy Kills it!

This is something that has to be seen by everyone! After watching this video a few times, I am still pretty confused as to what is happening, but it is super dope.

i'm sorry world, is my ass too fat for you?  my expanding belly too...expansive?  my near waddle an utter shame?  is it wrong that i can't touch my toes?  that i need help hoisting myself off the couch?  that i pee 73 times a day?  perhaps i could do something to prevent my very being from causing so many people to tell me that i'm 'huge' or to roll their eyes in disbelief when they learn i still have three more months of pregnancy bliss.  i haven't cried yet during the hormonal rampages that i don't have, but i just might if one more person comments on my buddha belly.  that, or i may just tell them exactly where to go and how to get there (things i can't include on this "family" blog).

victorious

after a thorough tutorial on the ins and outs of "the home," we picked up mer and clay and were on our way.  friday was pretty mellow--driving down, eating some NASTY pizza in green river (thanks for the recommendation Ken--guess it tastes better AFTER running a half marathon...), got the boys checked in, and then parked it at the good ole Moab KOA where we tucked in relatively early.

the next morning we had a brief scare when we couldn't find the keys.  i was feeling quite sheepish because i was the last one to have them, but after tearing apart that little motorhome we found them in matt's pant pocket.  funny how things work out, eh matt?!

we parked the home by the park/finish line, sent the boys on their way, and merilee and i hung out for a while until the shops opened.

before the race

after souvenir shopping for mer's kids, we headed over to the finish line where we anxiously awaited their triumphant arrival.  little did we know, our 30 minute wait would be spend dodging loogy hocking, farming blowing miscreants as we desperately hung over the rail to spot our men.  and then they came.  victorious.  sweaty.  and proud.

clay finishing at a whopping 1 hour 49 minutes!!

matt finishing at 1 hour 51 minutes!!

happy to have finished

hanging out at the park

slappin' it high!

matt and ken

i know that i lack both desire and, well, desire to EVER run a half marathon, but i/we sure were proud of these guys for all their training and for completing the race!  way to go guys.

and we're off...

my crazy husband and brother-in-law are far too masochistic.  okay, or i'm far too lazy.  regardless, we're on our way to "the moab" (as survivor man bear grills calls it) tonight so that they can kick some hinney in the 1/2 marathon tomorrow.  we're borrowing my parents "home" (aka: motorhome), which may just prove to be the most terrifying aspect of this whole journey: jessi behind the wheel of a twenty some odd foot home on wheels.
pray for us.

boxing is for who?

that's right.  and anyone else who can handle having their ass kicked by a 5 foot nothing woman of steel!  my family's been taking boxing/personal training classes at a local sugarhouse studio, boxing is for girls, and this month kevin (my little bro) was named boxer of the month!!

both him and sam (my other bro) have been learning to box, spar, and shadow box, not to mention the grueling workouts that going along with it.

so, way to go kevo!!

too bad he fell down the stairs and broke his pinky...he's out for a while, but will come back with a vengeance, i'm sure.  my whole family was at the gym this morning while it was being featured on the channel 2 news.  they didn't make the shot, but pretty cool nonetheless.

so, if you're interested in getting one hell of a work out, check out their website: www.boxingisforgirls.com

one hundred & counting...

That's right, folks: only 100 days of pregnancy *bliss* left. While I'll miss the movements and feeling her squirm around inside of me, I'm pretty sure that's all I'll miss. I know 100 days is still a long time, but I'm pretty ready for time to launch into super-speed and for her to be here. Not that I'm overly ready to be a mom, but am SO ready for the congestion to end, to not need a hand when getting up from the couch, achey hips and back, etc., etc., etc.  She's worth every pain and every unpleasant aspect of this process, but for the love of everything holy...bring June here FAST!!!

Pretty sweet video

I pulled this video clip off of a blog that I follow religiously, I guess the only blog I follow religiously. The Goat. It is the ultimate, those of you who are already hooked on it (Greg) know that nothing gets you through a day like a little dose of satirical humor from our good friend Rocky. Enjoy the video, kind of long, but incredible.

birthday boy

Since we won't be around tomorrow on his official birthday, here's a big birthday shout out to Matt--who turns the big 2-6 tomorrow!

We won't be hittin' the slopes, but will surely be livin' the dream
down at my parents place in Charleston.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!

The dopest dawg in town (p.s. I hate the word dawg)

cravings...

crav⋅ing   [krey-ving]
–noun
great or eager desire; yearning.

um.  great or eager desire?  try an insatiable yearning deep in my soul for any and every kind of chocolatey goodness.  anything to add yet another beautiful dimple to my already bespeckled ass.  seriously.  my baby is going to be born with a serious sugar addiction--kinda like a coke baby, only healthier...or something.  i guess my only salvation is that the weather is getting nice so i can start walking outside.  oh, and i try to eat an apple every day.  anything to make myself feel better, right?

tagged...

the rule was to open the 4th photo folder and to then post the 4th picture in that folder...

after browsing some other pics, i decided that i would actually
follow the rules, so here in all her glory is a halloween picture from 2006:

i scored these cat eye contacts from work (when i worked as an optician--they retail for 80 bucks) and wore them home.  talk about a scary drive down provo canyon--they're totally
opaque except for a small area--but i wanted to have them on to surprise matt...and
surprised he was.  he could hardly look at me with them on.

i tag whoever else wants to do it!
