i can't exactly think of a time when droopy is used as a positive adjective (especially if you happen to be a man). droopy isn't even cool if you're 2--just ask skylar: while monkeying around on the couch yesterday, she went face first off the back of the couch and onto the floor. er, onto her face on the floor. the hard wood floor (okay, fake hard wood floor, but that's not the point). i heard the thud from upstairs and went racing down. matt scooped her up and handed her to me: sobbing, drooling, bloody mouthed, bloody nosed little girl. we got her cleaned up, calmed down, and were on our way. as a side note, she's also getting over a cold and started complaining about her ears...so i thought i'd call the doctor to see if i could get her and and just ask about the fall. it was about this time, about three hours post-crash, that i also noticed her left eye was super droopy. a nice bruise had developed on her forehead and nose, but not her eye. i asked the nurse about this when i called and she said i should bring her in. so i did. and then, we had a phone consult with er at primary's. and then we rushed down to primary's to have a ct scan of my baby's head. you know, to rule out skull fracture, brain bleeds, and hematomas. just your run of the mill stuff. sigh. luckily everything looked okay and they just suspect a bruised nerve. i sure hope so cause the next step, if our doctor's still worried on monday, is an mri.

snow baby
this little girl loves snow.
she's been anxiously awaiting the cold
weather for a long time, as it's been
long over due this year. as soon as it fell,
matt bundled her up and whisked her away to
a little sledding hill around the corner.
she had a blast.

christmas in january
i've been holding out on posting about our christmas festivities. they were just too awesome to post in december, when the actual holiday occurred. so, enjoy them now.
we saw santa at my parents ward xmas party
we [skylar and matt] ice skated at my parents
ward xmas party
we hung out and feel asleep in our toy boxes
we saw the lights on temple square
we christmas eved with the olsen family
of course there were christmas eve jammies
santa came!
thanks to a moron who worked with matt at rei and
a mismounted pair of skis, we got them for free
and gave them to skylar!
presents at my parents house.
and sam [above] in the new, cool version of the snuggie. a
jumpsuit complete with butt flap. no need to ever leave the comfort
of your fleecey blanket ensemble.
eating cereal for the first time
bronchiolitis.
bleck.
double bleck.
and of course a little update:
matt's busy at deer valley and rei. he's planning some pre-requisites to take this summer before applying to the radiology tech program and either slcc or weber state. looks like we're headed back to school [back to school, to prove to dad that i'm not a fool].
skylar is 2. need i say more? we shift, ever so gracefully, from drama queen to happy child to kick and screaming tantrums. it's joyous. it's glorious. i hope it lasts forever.
sadie is good. well, she's been better. she's teething. she got 5 shots last week. she has a cold. she has bronchiolitis. she sounds like she swallowed a kazoo. but, she's on the up swing and is on track back to being her happy self. she's a super chill kid. proof: she doesn't roll or sit. she can scoot across a room on her back--some sort of weird baby crab "walk," but the girl can't roll. go figure.
and i'm good. i recently started "running" and seriously thought to myself, "this must be what hell is like." i hate running. but i'm going to stick with it. why? i don't know. i guess because i eat a bowl of ice cream every night and "running" a couple times a week helps me justify that. other than that, i'm just busy being a mom and tutor to my brothers.
life is good.
and, i guess that's it.
